With Utah in full swing of opening back up, you still may not be feeling excited about leaving the house, especially with the increase of COVID cases over the last few weeks. Many Utahans are still choosing to stay at home, but after almost 4 months of quarantine, our patience is waning. Here are a few ways you can continue to thrive during these uncertain times.

Support Local Food

Local shops are doing their best to also survive while their normal business flow is interrupted. You can grab an Artisan Support Pack from Caputos and munch on some local favorites. Stock up on all your meat needs with a Beltex Butcher Basics Bag (currently on “summer break” so check back in on 7/26). Still looking for a place to grab a bite to go? Check out Curbside Utah and see who is available to take your order.

Level Up

Still don’t have the quarantine bod you thought you’d have by now? There are plenty of ways you can still level up. Local tech skills company, Pluralsight, lets you learn and hone in on your tech skills while offering thousands of online classes that cover topics from programming to business acumen.  If the quarantine bod is still a goal, check in with your local gym to see if they are still hosting online group classes. Gyms like Salt Lake City Crossfit offer Zoom sessions with all their daily workouts. What to learn how to be happy(er)? Join Yale’s most popular course for free, The Science of Being Happy (new enrollment starts frequently so keep an eye on dates)!

Mental Health

Don’t forget to take care of the most important thing in your life - yourself! Salt Power Yoga is offering online courses to help you keep your flow flowing. Apps like Calm and Headspace still have free offerings and deals if you’re looking to start or improve your meditation practice. Check in with your company’s health insurance provider and see what they offer in terms of COVID specific resources. Above all, figure out what is going to make you whole during this time - working out, eating healthy, getting out into nature, reading, etc - and make it a goal to do that thing at least once a week.

We are halfway through one of the crazier years on record, but we can continue to thrive when we take care of ourselves and each other. Check in on family, friends, neighbors and coworkers to make sure they are still doing well. Stay safe, support local and as more and more retailers are requiring face coverings, don't forget your masks!
